Message from the President of the SSF, Nicola Lau, in regards to the Faculty Strike

Hello Students:

I have been receiving a lot of questions about the faculty strike.  Along with the College, the SSF team is working to provide as much information and support to students as possible.

As many of you may have heard, the starting date of a strike is Monday, October 16th at 12:01 am.

I will continue to keep you updated after attendance at meetings with the college. Communications regarding the strike will also be sent through your Seneca student email accounts.  Social media, along with websites will also be updated throughout this period. Click here to find out more updates and frequently asked questions.

Students are encouraged to check the SSF website for information regarding the Shuttle Bus service which will be adjusted due to the strike.  As well, to find out what each SSF has planned during the strike, students are encouraged to check the SSF Website.

During the strike SSF offices will be open.  [email protected] and Newnham SSF offices will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  King and Markham will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For additional information, please call your local SSF office.

I understand this is a difficult time for all students.  I will continue to be here for anyone who may have questions or concerns. I would like you all to know that I, as well as many student association representatives across Ontario are encouraging a settlement. No matter the outcome, we as an organization will continue to support you throughout your time at Seneca College. The SSF encourages both sides to keep students best interests in mind.

Thank you,

Nicola Lau

SSF President
